Common Uses
Metamizol is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), commonly used in many countries as a powerful painkiller and fever reducer.
How to Take
The dosage and duration of the treatment must be determined according to the severity of the pain syndrome. The common dose in the adults is 250 to 500 mg (1 to 2 tablets) 2 or 3 times daily. The maximum dose is 3 g/24h. In over 15 year-old children the Metamizol dose is 250 mg.
Warning and Precautions
Metamizol may cause dizziness or drowsiness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Metamizol with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Do not take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.
If your symptoms do not get better within 5 to 7 days or if they get worse, check with your doctor.
Metamizol may interfere with certain lab test results. Make sure that your doctor and lab personnel know that you are taking Metamizol.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include: blurred vision; confusion; hallucinations; seizures; severe dizziness, lightheadedness, or headache; severe drowsiness; unusually fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; vomiting. Visit your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Storage
Store Metamizol at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Metamizol out of the reach of children and away from pets.
Possible Side Effects
Common side effects: dizziness; drowsiness; excitability; headache; nausea; nervousness or anxiety; trouble sleeping; weakness. Seek medical attention right away if any of these side effects occur.
