Common Uses
Antiadipositum is a slimming drug, anorexic drug, which is used in addition to dietary measures in the short-term treatment of obesity for people who have not responded to an appropriate weight-reducing diet alone.
How to Take
You should not take any medicine without doctor’s proper advice and examination. Adults must take 1 retard capsule daily, after breakfast, unchewed with a little liquid. Exceeding the dose does not result in an increased effect. Persons under 18 and over 60 years old, and in cases of pathological eating disorders, may only take the medicine upon recommendation of the physician.
Warning and Precautions
If Antiadipositum administered for a period longer than four weeks severe health problems may be experienced (concentration disorders, low performance, over excitement, change of personality, insomnia and exhaustion). Therefore a pause of at lease two (better three) months should be made after a four-week treatment.
Antiadipositum is not to be taken together with drugs that contain the pharmaceutical substance guanethidine (increases the sympathomimetic effect). The same applies to drugs to treat colds and asthma, which contain DL-Norephedrine (Phenylpropanolamine) or other ephedrine-type substances and drugs to increase blood pressure. Interactions with the anaesthetic Halothane (cardiac dysrhythmia) have to be considered.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose please visit you doctor immediately.
Storage
Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly closed container, away from heat, moisture and light. Keep away from pets and children.
Possible Side Effects
Common side effects are: increase of blood pressure, of pulse rate, cardiac dysrhythmia or possibly cardiac pains; some times urination disorders, nervosity, vertigo, headaches or insomnia may occur.
These side effects generally disappear immediately upon discontinuing the use of the drug.
